North West ANC recalls two more Mayors

The African National Congress (ANC) in the North West has recalled two more Mayors from the Kagisano-Molopo Municipality and the Naledi Local Municipality. Tshireletso Marabutse and Cliffton Groep are the two Mayors who have been recalled.
This follows the recent recalling of the Mayors of the Bojanala District Municipality, the City of Matlosana Local Municipality and the Greater Taung Local Municipality. This emerged during the ANC’s media briefing in Rustenburg yesterday following the Provincial Executive Committee meeting over the weekend.
The governing party in the province recently concluded performance assessments of its deployees after it expressed dissatisfaction with the ailing state of some municipalities which fail to render basic services. The ANC says the move is to ensure the proper functioning of the municipalities. Chief whips of some of the municipalities were also not spared from the cut.
The party has acknowledged the need to bring on board those who have the necessary expertise to effect changes, adding that it will announce the successors of those who were removed in due course.
