Norma Mngoma back in court
Norma Mngoma will find out on Friday if the charges against her will be dropped.
She’s charged with crimen injuria and malicious damage to property, and is expected back in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
The estranged wife of former Finance Minister, Malusi Gigaba was arrested by the Hawks in July last year, after allegedly damaging a Mercedes-Benz that was being driven by her husband.
A month ago, a high court judge declared her arrest unlawful.
He ruled that Gigaba had abused his powers by involving the Hawks in a domestic dispute and that the confiscation of Mngoma’s cellphones and laptops was unlawful.
The judge ordered the Hawks to return all information unlawfully downloaded from the devices.
