Hawks arrest 4 former Nelson Mandela Bay officials

The Hawks have swooped on four former Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality officials and three businessmen on Thursday.
The officials worked at the Public Health Directorate.
They are implicated in fraud, money laundering, and corruption to the tune of R26-million.
It’s alleged companies belonging to the businessmen were awarded fraudulent tenders between 2014 and 2017 and that the municipality paid money for services that were never rendered.
The suspects will appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrate’s court soon for a formal bail application.
