Nkandla architect admitted to hospital

The case against the architect for Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla homestead may be delayed.

Minenhle Makhanya is being sued by the Special Investigating Unite for payment of over R155-million linked to upgrades to the homestead.

Makhanya has reportedly been admitted to an undisclosed hospital.

According to sources he is due to be discharged, but will still be unable to stand trial.

He was set to cross-examine one of the witnesses.

The SIU found the amount spent on Nkandla upgrades to be excessive and irregular.

The case is being held in the High Court in Pietermaritzburg.
