Former Ukhozi FM radio host Ngizwe Mchunu was arrested on Monday afternoon. Mchunu walked out in handcuffs at the police provincial headquarters.
He was then transferred to the Durban Central Police station.

Mchunu released a statement yesterday saying he will be handing himself over to the police.

According to his lawyer, Vusi Khathi, Mchunu had an open warrant against him in Randburg.
“The case relates to an old Apartheid law of gatherings. We are going to look through it and challenge it,” he said.
Khathi said Mchunu handed himself over to police on Monday morning in anticipation of his arrest.
He added Mchunu will appear at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
