Newcastle municipality searching for a man who stole vacancy drop box

The Newcastle Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal is appealing to the public to help track down a man who allegedly stole the council vacancy dropbox.

He was caught on CCTV footage taking off with the box on Monday. The municipality believes he could targeting unsuspecting job applicants and try to solicit money from them.

Authorities say it’s unclear if the suspect was working alone or had inside help. Those with information are urged to contact the municipality or the police.
