George Clooney is set to direct and star in Good Morning, Midnight, a new Netflix adaptation of Lily Brooks-Daltons 2016 novel.
According to trade publication Variety the post-apocalyptic story centres on a lonely scientist Augustine (Clooney) in the Arctic, and an astronaut on board the Aether spacecraft, which is trying to return home to Earth.
Mark L Smith (The Revenant) will adapt the novel for the screen.
The 58-year-old actor said he couldn’t be more excited to be involved in the incredible project.
“Mark is a writer we’ve long admired, and his script is haunting. We’re thrilled to be working with our friends at Netflix as well,” said George. Filming for the movie will begin in October.
