National State of Disaster extended to 15 February

The National State of Disaster has been extended to 15 February 2022. This is despite numerous objections that these regulations are no longer necessary.

The extension has been gazetted by CoGTA Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma. The number of new COVID-19 cases, deaths and hospitalisations is declining.

Health Minister Joe Phaahla says they have seen a decrease of about 27 percent in new cases in the past week.
