National shutdown wasn’t in country’s best interest, says Fikile Mbalula

The ANC has commended South Africans for rejecting attempts to throw the country into chaos.

This follows protest action organized by the Economic Freedom Fighters on Monday.

The party protested against the electricity crisis, high unemployment, and the resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Mbalula says this was a desperate attempt to paralyse the country’s economy.

Meanwhile, the ruling party says that they are happy with the developments coming out of Eskom.

The power utility seems to be making strides in reducing rolling blackouts and improving energy supply.

South Africa enjoyed uninterrupted electricity over the past few days for the first time this year but stage two and three blackouts have returned.
