NPA granted R22 million preservation order in National Lotteries Commission case

The noose is tightening for those linked to fraud and corruption at the National Lotteries Commission.

The Asset Forfeiture Unit has secured a preservation order worth more than R22-million in properties, two Ocean Basket franchises and a BMW.

The Commission has been embroiled in several scandals which prompted a series of investigations by the Special Investigating Unit.

Earlier this year, it was granted an order to freeze a multi-million rand property, allegedly bought with commission money.

Criminal cases have been opened against the former CFO Philemon Letwaba, CEO Lesley Ramulifho, and an attorney.
