SCA grants Nandipha Magudumana leave to appeal

The Supreme Court of Appeal has granted Nandipha Magudumana leave to appeal the High Court decision that dismissed her application to have her arrest and deportation from Tanzania declared unlawful and set aside.
Magudumana claims she was abducted in Tanzania by the South African Police Services.
Although the court found that her deportation was a disguised extradition, ultimately the High court ruled Magudumana agreed to return to South Africa.
A date for the hearing is still being finalized.
Magudumana is facing several charges related to Facebook rapist Thabo Bester’s elaborate escape from a Mangaung prison.
