Nandi Madida almost robbed. It is a known fact that there are bullets that many artists have had to duck in order to thrive and get what they deserve. One of those is being exploited for their bodies of work.
There are certain key players that have given the entertainment industry a bad name. South African multifaceted star, Nandi Madida recently posted a thread on her Twitter page, whereby she detailed certain moments of almost being shortchanged regarding her work in the Arts.
The media star also shared that her thread was aimed at ”helping” up and coming artists in the entertainment industry.

It seems Nandi was emphasizing the importance of a good publisher. She went to advise fellow artists to regularly check in with their publisher, hence many of our beloved artists have millions of rands that is due to them.
If there was justice, honesty and transparency, there should be NO established local musician dying poor.. it’s crooks that feel entitled to money that doesn’t belong to them. I was saved by my publishers! So please get yourself good publishers or be your own publisher.

To musicians if you wrote a song, performed a song, got a sync deal from a song etc. FOLLOW up with your publishing and ensure you are paid what is rightfully yours.

Please do not allow anyone to take money away from you but more importantly if you have kids, your kids mouths. Protect yourself and the next generation from crooks. ♥️

Exploitation is a serious concern in the world of the Arts. It is therefore important that artists of Nandi Madida’s stature come out and share their stories hence it proves that basically anyone can get exploited, however there ways of ducking those bullets.
