Co-accused denies making statement to show that Nafiz Modack not involved in Charl Kinnear murder plot

A co-accused has vehemently denied making a statement that was presented as evidence in court by alleged underworld gang boss, Nafiz Modack.
Modack and 14 co-accused face 122 charges for various crimes, including the murder former anti-gang unit head, Lieutenant Charl Kinnear in September 2020.
Modack, Yannick Adonis, Amaal Jantjies, and Ashley Tabisher are accused of being involved in a plot to kill Kinnear in 2019.
Defence attorney Bashier Sibda on Tuesday presented the court with a statement from Tabisher to show that Modack was not involved in the plot.
In the alleged statement, Tabisher, who was part of the anti-gang unit at the time, claims that it was Kinnear who planned a fake attack on his own home in November 2019.
However, Tabisher on Tuesday denied making the statement.
“My lord, I’m going to be very bold and direct. This is not my signature, this is not me, my lord.”
The trial is set to continue with a new witness taking the stand on Wednesday.
