10 killed on N2 highway near Pongola, KZN
10 people have been killed in a horror crash on the N2 highway in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Eight of the deceased are children and two are adults.
An eleventh person – a child – is fighting for his life in hospital after sustaining critical injuries.
The accident happened between Pongola and Itshelejuba.
The crash reportedly involved a truck and a bakkie that was transporting school pupils.
Emergency services are on the scene and the cause of the crash is unknown at this stage.
