As much as break-ups can go south quickly, these celebrities have come out on the other side to co-parent their children.
ProVerb and Onalerona
Idols SA presenter ProVerb and his former wife Onalerona Moreo were able to put aside the tabloid reports that Moreo had been unfaithful and the pair still respect each other.
For the sake of their children, they decided to keep quiet about their split. “The reason why I don’t share much about the experience is to protect my family, the father of my kids and everyone involved,” Moreo once posted on Instagram.
Somizi Mhlongo and Palesa Madisakwane
The Idols SA judge Somizi Mhlongo dated actress and businesswoman Palesa Madisakwane, and they share a daughter named Bahumi.
“Now that Bahumi’s an adult and most people know who her parents are, we never once thought of hiding it from the media. When it comes to raising Bahumi, we try our best to give her a normal life, even though it’s hard to avoid bad publicity,” Madisakwane told Move magazine in 2016. She further went on to say how great a father Mhlongo is.
Bonnie Mbuli and Sisanda Henna
Actors Bonnie Mbuli and Sisanda Henna kept quiet about the reasons for their divorce in 2013, until 2015 when Mbuli, True Love’s July cover girl, shared that they remained amicable after going their separate ways despite their marriage having had a lot of challenges.
My kids’s father is the most active dad ever. We are co-parenting, and he’s there for them whenever they need him…” The two are serving co-parenting goals as they always post pictures of themselves hanging out with their lovely children. How sweet!
Tbo Touch and Thuli Thabethe
This pair is living proof that a breakup doesn’t mean that former couples can’t be good friends, as they share co-parenting duties for their son Ruri. They often send shout-outs to each other on social media, even sharing clips of each other as Tbo Touch did of Thabethe showing off her rapping skills on Twitter.
The pair also send each other Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and birthday wishes. Thabethe also defends Tbo Touch from trolls on social media, “I refuse to be part of the people trying to pull him down,” Thabethe says. “I’ll support him because he’s the father of my son. I will publicly stand up for him.
