My father loves fame: Babes Wodumo
During her interview with Pearl Thusi on Behind the Story, Babes Wodumo, openly admitted that her father loves fame and all that he had said about her recently was to seek fame
Babes Wodumo’s father, Reverend Welcome Simelane, was one of the family members who publically supported her when she was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend, Mampintsha. Simelane addressed the media after a video that Babes posted on her Instagram Live of her being mishandled and slapped around by Mampintsha went viral. Her father had many interviews with media houses and spoke on radio as well about how he would not stand for the abuse and convinced his daughter to lay charges against her former boyfriend. We thought it was very noble until Babes, who was a guest on Pearl Thusi’s Behind the Story on Wednesday, said he was doing all this because he loves fame.
Babes explained how shocked she was when she saw her father all over the news. She also made fun of how her father spoke English in front of the cameras. Last year, Reverend Simelane also made news when he slammed the way Masechaba Ndlovu handled an interview with the Wololo hit-maker on Metro FM. He defended Babes, saying that his daughter was caught off-guard during the interview.
