Musa Mseleku sets the record straight on reports of taking Umkhokha actress Ntokozo Mzulwini as wife number 5

Well-known South African polygamist Musa Mseleku has poured cold water on reports of him taking Umkhokha actress Ntokozo “Goldivah” Mzulwini as his fifth wife.

Speaking to the publication, Mseleku said the pictures of him and the actress that went viral were part of promoting his reality show Uthando Nes’thembu.

“Mzansi Magic has always been so creative in promoting their shows. In their wisdom they realize that the story of wife number five as far as I am concerned …is a big story. So when the channel approached us to do this promo we saw an opportunity to revive our story by agreeing to shoot it. I have no issues with Ntokozo Mzulwini but it was for the first time I met her when she visited my homestead for that shoot,” he told the publication.

“I have never expressed intentions to take her as a wife and I feel very sorry for her for what she went through on social media. But as if that is not enough, it has made me realise what my number five will go through, and on the other side it is good because it is preparing her mentally to be strong. But I am also amazed by women who are saying please take us as number six. That should tell you that not all women are entirely against polygamy. At the end of the day it depends on Indlovukazi Mamkhulu MaCele whether we will take wife number five or six.”

Previously speaking to the publication, Mseleku admitted he was struggling to convince his wives about taking up another wife.

“I’m asking my wives to allow me to take a fifth wife, it’s no longer a question to me. I’m just waiting for them to say yes or no. And I’m doing it the modern way. If it was before, I’d be telling them that I’m taking.

“The way it’s supposed to be done, is for me to engage with the first wife and tell her I intend to take a fifth wife and she would communicate with the other wives. But in the modern times, it does not work that way because all the wives have to be treated equally.”

He’s carrying out a vision he saw for his life at a young age — to have a big family — which has now grown to what he refers to as an “institution”. Though he had no example growing up, Mseleku says he feels confident he will succeed regardless of the hurdles that come along the way.

“When I started, I thought I was going to fail, but now I think I can stand on top of the mountain and say, ‘yes, I’ve made it’. It’s been over 20 years … any vision at any point gets to be reaffirmed whether it’s still following its intended original form or not. This is for the first time in my life where something we all identify as [as a family] we cannot fix it.”
