Over this past weekend, police responded to murders in Masiphumelele, Delft, and Strandfontein.

On Sunday, officers were deployed to a house in Bergvliet, where they discovered the bodies of a woman and a 10-year-old boy.

The latest crime statistics showed that the majority of the top 30 stations where murder was most reported included Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, and Eastern Cape.

The top five stations were in Inanda in KwaZulu-Natal, and Mfuleni, Gugulethu, Nyanga, and Khayelitsha in Western Cape.

The Police Ministry added that it was concerning that of the 268 gang-related murders, 250 were reported in the Western Cape.
