
Gauteng premier Panyaza Lesufi has given all municipal managers and mayors until Tuesday next week to report to him to discuss workers’ grievances.
Hundreds of municipal workers marched to ANC headquarters in Johannesburg on Thursday.
They’re demanding a decent wage in the face of a spiralling cost of living.
Lesufi has promised to attend to their demands by next week.
But impatient workers are resisting any delay.
They’ve called on the premier to reassess what they call austerity measures.
