Multiple people injured in Umhlanga head-on collision

KwaZulu-Natal: At 16H00 Tuesday afternoon, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on Umhlanga Rocks Drive in Somerset Park, Umhlanga Durban.
Reports indicate that a bakkie and car were involved in a collision.
When medics arrived on scene they found multiple patients on the floor surrounding the collision site.
One person, an adult male driver was found trapped in the car.
On scene with Netcare 911 was the Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services, Durban North SAPS, Marshall Security, Emer-G-Med ems, Government ems.
The trapped patient was extricated by the fire and rescue services using the jaws-of-life.
A multitude of other patients, all adult males, were treated on scene and once stabilised were transported by various ambulance services to hospital.
Circumstances leading up to the collision will be investigated by the Durban North SAPS.
