Multiple injured as taxi rolls down mountain side

Mpumalanga: At 11H59 Saturday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R37 LongTom Pass in Lydenburg.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a mini-bus taxi lost control when a wheel broke off resulting in the taxi rollover down the mountainside.

Medics found the fifteen occupants had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.

The patients were treated on the scene and once stabilised were transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further treatment.

Following the tragic death of businessman and socialite Genius ‘Ginimbi’ Kadungure in a car accident on Sunday morning, eyewitnesses have said that Ginimbi and the other accident victims were still alive when they arrived at the scene of the accident and tried to rescue them.
