Motsoaledi Setumo has taken to Instagram and shared an adorable throwback picture of herself as a child and her late mother. The Kagiso born actress posted the picture in celebration of her late mother’s birthday.
The actress lost her mother 8 months ago and she opened up about not being able to take off work to mourn and grieve her mother this is due to the fact that the work schedules of actors in the country is too hectic and they hardly have time off to attend to important family events.
Setumo’s comments at the time angered a lot of social media users who felt it was unfair what people working in the film industry were going through and pointed out that things should change.
Rami Chuene who played Gracious Mabuza the aunt of Setumo’s character Mmabatho in the Queen also came out to confirm in a lengthy Twitter thread that actors could not take time off to attend funerals of loved ones. Chuene also revealed that being in the TV industry was not as rosy as fans thought.
