Isidingo actor Motlasi Mafatshe (Sechaba) ventures into farming
Former Isidingo actor, Motlatsi Mafatshe, has gone into farming. He’s busy with soil testing on his 30-hectare farm in Randfontein, west of Joburg.
“This will help us determine what kind of plants will survive on our soil,” said Motlatsi.
“Our intention is to prepare soil suitable for lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, spinach and other vegetables.
“The good thing is that our soil is very fertile.”
He said for now they started with poultry and have over 50 chickens that lay eggs.
“It’s a good start for a man who’s still learning.
“After Isidingo I realized I cannot survive on entertainment alone, and that’s when I started negotiating with my uncle Romeo Seyama and we’re trading as Ubuntu Farming,” said Motlatsi.
He was recently on the series How to Ruin Christmas, where he played Themba Twala who was unhappy in his marriage.
The seasoned actor said he regards marriage as a foundation where a man loves and commits.
“It’s important for kids to grow under the guidance of both parents under one roof,” Motlatsi told the People’s Paper.
Motlatsi said you don’t own your partner in marriage. Allow him or her to be independent.
“Perhaps that’s why I’ve been with my wife Millicent Nkangane for over 15 years,” he said.
Motlatsi is also a funk-soul musician and has released three singles, Is for life, Thando and Falling.
Motlatsi’s fans can look forward to seeing him in the movie, One Night Kwa Mxolisi on 26 February on Showmax.
