Mongameli Bobani survives another motion of no confidence

Nelson Mandela Bay’s Mongameli Bobani has dodged another bullet and remains mayor of the municipality. Earlier the EFF marched out of council chambers following a dispute with the speaker.

The ANC also indicated it was pulling out of the petition calling for Bobani’s removal.

The vote of no confidence also fell through last month.

Bobani is accused of corruption and mismanagement. He’s denied any wrongdoing.

In other news –  Mbalula on mission to modernise Prasa amid commuter dissatisfaction

Amid high levels of train commuter dissatisfaction, Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula says his intervention mechanism, the war room, has made good progress in turning this around.
