The ANC’s Head of Elections, Fikile Mbalula, says the party needs to act against its members found in the wrong.
He has echoed President Cyril Ramaphosa’s sentiments that corruption has ruined the image of the party. Mbalula says the party will push for more action and less talk.
“The ANC is in big, big trouble because you know, what accounts for most of the things people raise against us is corruption,” he said.
Meanwhile, The ANC says it will practice transparency when it comes to funding for the local election. Mbalula, says all election funding must be declared.
In advanced democracies, you know that funding has to be declared and ours is no exception to that. People who fund the ANC, supporting democracy and who are genuinely business people and who’ve got money and believe in the ideals of the ANC, there is no reason they should hide their money,” he added. He was speaking on The Fix with Karima Brown.
