Nomvula Mokonyane says ANCYL leaders must be inducted

ANC First Deputy Secretary General Nomvula Mokonyane has welcomed the new leadership of the Youth League. Speaking to JJ Tabane on Power to Truth, Mokonyane says this is the structure that has been missing in the ANC. She says it is important for the new leadership to be oriented so they don’t become a problem to themselves.

“I think all of us have been yearning to have a structure of the ANC Youth League because for the past elections and also just in the course of the implementation of our programmes, you could actually feel the void of the ANC Youth League,” she said.

The ANC Youth League elected its top 6 leaders at its national elective congress over the weekend. This was the league’s first conference in nearly eight years. Collen Malatji is the new president of the ANC Youth League, and will be deputised by Phumzile Mgcina.
