Western Cape Missing Persons Unit confirms 4 missing minors in the province

The Western Cape Missing Persons Unit says four minors in the province are currently still missing after disappearing without a trace.

This comes as the search for missing seven-year-old Joshlin Smith continues for a fourth day in Saldanha Bay.

Police and residents are still searching for Joshlin Smith on Friday after she went missing from her mother’s boyfriend’s house on Monday afternoon.

Twelve-year-old Lunamandla Sithonga, nine-year-old Linathi Titshala, six-month-old Ivakele Yeko and two-month-old Kai-isha Meniers.

These are the four missing minors that Western Cape Missing Persons CEO Candice van der Rheede said have not yet been found.

“Two were abducted and the other went missing without a trace like nobody saw them whatsoever.”

Van der Rheede has urged the public to practice restraint in sharing false information about the whereabouts of Smith.

“The information that was posted on social media was basically giving a heads up to whoever might have taken this child, and that is a very dangerous situation we find ourselves in.”

Van der Rheede said it is vital that police be allowed to do their investigation without interference.
