Missing Joshlin Smith: Police discover blood-stained clothing lined up for forensic analysis

Western Cape police have found pieces of clothing with blood stains, allegedly belonging to missing six-year-old Joshlin Smith in Saldanha Bay.

According to police, the blood-stained clothes were found in an open field on Saturday night.

“The investigation team descended on the scene where the pieces of clothing were seized as part of ongoing investigation,” said police spokesperson Malcolm Poje.

“The clothing will be sent to our forensic laboratory for analysis.”

Poje added that while investigation continued, no arrests have been made.

The discovery came after Police Minister Bheki Cele visited her home in Middelpos, Saldanha Bay, on Saturday.

Cele committed to deploying resources to finding Smith.

Smith’s mother reported her missing last month after she could not find the little girl when she returned from work.

The primary school girl was left in the care of her mother’s boyfriend at the time of her abrupt disappearance.
