Missing Children SA calls for calm after Joshlin Smith blood-stained clothing found

Children’s advocacy group Missing Children South Africa has called for calm following the discovery of blood-stained clothing suspected to be belonging to six-year-old Joshlin Smith.
Monday marks the 14th day since the little girl disappeared from her home in Saldanha Bay while under the care of her mother’s boyfriend.
Minister of Police Bheki Cele visited her family home in Middlepos at the weekend, and promised to deploy all resources to finding the little girl.
Missing Children South Africa said too much damage was done by social media reactions on the search for Joshlin in the past two weeks.
While police wouldn’t speculate on the blood-stained clothing found, the clothes were taken for forensic analysis.
Officials said drone technology and rescue dogs were used to expand the search.
Missing Children South Africa’s National Coordinator, Bianca Aswegen, said, “Joshlin Smith is currently still missing, but all efforts are being done to find her. We once again urge the public to please refrain from sharing any false information doing the rounds on social media.”
The organization said police needed to be given space to do their work without speculations of what might have happened.
