SA COVID-19: New infections are dropping, says Minister Phaahla

South Africa exited the third coronavirus wave on 27 September according to the latest from Health Minister Joe Phaahla.
He says the wave lasted over a hundred days with it being the worst the country has experienced.
On Friday, the health department briefed the country on the latest COVID-19 stats.
According to Phaahla in the last three weeks, new COVID-19 infections have been dropping.
He says the country is entering a stable territory.
“The number of new infections have been consistently dropping in the last three weeks, 33% reduction in the last 7 days… 19.3% decrease in hospitalization in the last seven days,” he said.
Phaahla also announced the COVID digital vaccine certificate system is operational.
