Minister Naledi Pandor calls for equal access to COVID-19 vaccine

The COVID-19 vaccine should be available to everyone if we’re serious about fighting the pandemic. That’s the word from International Relations and Cooperation Minister Naledi Pandor.

The minister also emphasised the need for peace and security in Africa to tackle socio-economic challenges.

“All countries, United Nations, multilateral organisations, the European Union, my colleagues in the Netherlands… the Netherlands is entering lockdown today… all of us in our telecons have agreed: it must be a public good,” Pandor said.

“If it’s not, those who don’t get it are a threat even to those who may have had access.

The minister said threats of insurgence and terror in the continent are a threat to our country as well. Pandor said South Africa is willing to assist Mozambique.
