Water and Sanitation Minister Senzo Mchunu is expected to meet with Durban north residents over ongoing water availability woes this weekend.
This follows days of protests at communities including Phoenix, Tongaat, and Verulam.
Ethekweni officials told journalists that interventions to resolve the issue were under way.
However, community members insist their needs have fallen on deaf ears.
The ongoing water crisis in the city has left many residents reeling with small businesses being the hardest hit.
This was met by week-long protests and a total Phoenix shutdown this Monday.
Community members angry at the City of Ethekweni said the metro is failing them.
The Department of Water and Sanitation said it would visit affected communities to present a solution on Sunday.
City officials will also form part of the visit.
