Miners highly vulnerable to infectious disease – Minerals Council

The Minerals Council of South Africa says miners are highly vulnerable to infectious diseases. The council says working and congregating close to each other makes them more exposed.
It’s released a nine-point plan that will mitigate the risk of coronavirus.
This includes Employee Education and Health Promotion, as well as Health worker readiness campaigns.
On Thursday, South Africa confirmed its first case of coronavirus.
A 38-year-old man from KwaZulu-Natal was confirmed as the first South African to be infected with COVID-19.
