Snackworks is responsible for the biscuit and snacking portfolio under AVI. An opportunity has become available for a hands-on Millwright at our Rosslyn Snacks Factory. Suitably qualified and trade tested individuals with at least 3 years’ experience dealing with plant and equipment maintenance and repairs are invited to apply for the role.

Snackworks is responsible for the biscuit and snacking portfolio under AVI. An opportunity has become available for a hands-on Millwright at our Rosslyn Snacks Factory. Suitably qualified and trade tested individuals with at least 3 years’ experience dealing with plant and equipment maintenance and repairs are invited to apply for the role.
Maintain VFFS packaging machinery, food processing equipment, conveyers, gas burners and general factory equipment, such as pumps, compressors, multi-head weighers, etc
Ensure machine availability for production to reach targets
Carry out Maintenance, repair and fault finding tasks
Maintain pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment on machinery
Perform electrical planned maintenance
Perform mechanical planned maintenance
Installation and repair of all machinery
Execution of modifications and projects
Set Machinery as per manufacturer’s specifications
Team player
Good problem solving skills
Ability to work under pressure
Sound communication skills
Adaptable and open to change
At least 3 years’ experience in plant and equipment maintenance and repairs required within a FMCG environment
Must be in possession of a trade test certificate as a Millwright
Matric Certificate or NTC3 certificate
Experience of VFFS packaging machinery
Sound electrical knowledge
PLC programming knowledge will be an advantage
Basic knowledge of general instrumentation
Advanced fault finding ability
Must have Mechanical and pneumatic skills
