Location: Gauteng – Sunnyside
Reports To: Senior Utilities Specialist
About the Position:
We require a Meter Reader to work in support of the Utilities Department providing accurate readings and assistance to the Utility Specialist.
Specific Responsibilities:
Daily reading and taking of photos of water and electricity meters are requested.
Special readings and photo’s on request.
Monthly meter inspections.
Sealing of meters.
Installation of locks on main db’s as required.
Delivering of monthly invoices and correspondence.
Disconnection and reconnection of water and electricity meters on request.
Adhoc duties to be performed from time to time.

The ideal candidate would have the following requirements:
Must be able to work under pressure.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
Applicant must work well with a team.
Show initiative.
Analytical.
Attention to detail.
Cost-conscious in executing of task.
Customer service orientated.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Matric.
Microsoft office.
Basic knowledge of technical aspects pertaining to utility management.
Working knowledge of prepaid vending and management system will be an advantage.
