Menzi Ngubane slams abusers – A real man does not beat women

Menzi Ngubane has an important message for young men about how to treat women.
The Isibaya star was a keynote speaker at Mangosuthu University of Technology’s (MUT’s) 2019 Brotherhood event. He made a passionate plea to men who beat their women. What makes you think that is okay?
Menzi says that a real man knows how to control his emotions. I have daughters at home, they are my children, and I don’t even beat them, even though they are mine – I would rather sit them down and understand why a certain thing happened, and then conclude by telling them never to do it again. That’s how you deal with issues,” he said. The actor labelled abusers cowards.
“Now, some of you don’t even have children, but you find it okay to take a woman and beat her up, just to show how much of a man you are – that’s not being a man, in fact, that’s being a coward. Come to people like us if you want to pick a fight, we’ll show you,” he stressed.
Menzi was applauded for not mincing his words about domestic violence. I learned a lot from you today,” one Instagram user who attended the talk wrote. Another added: “Preach. MUT also held a Sisterhood talk for women, with speakers stressing the importance of self-validation.
Student counsellor, Zola Mdlalose, told attendees that, knowing how beautiful you are, regardless of what the next person thought, is important. Queens don’t fit in, they stick out,” MUT’s website quoted author and entrepreneur, Ntombizodwa Sibanda-Letlojane, as saying.
