Chase Software has an opening for a permanent position in the Information Technology sector in Johannesburg in South Africa (Gauteng).

The candidate will be required to fulfill and uphold the company values of personalized, high-quality service by finding solutions to problems that team members and users alike are experiencing. The candidate must be proficient with written communication, as support is normally provided by email to professional staff. The candidate will become part of a young and dynamic team of technology enthusiasts. The candidate will be offered an opportunity to learn new products and technologies, so that they may deliver the highest level of support and service to customers.

The ideal candidate will need to have the following skills and experience:

Solid accounting knowledge. Understanding concepts such as T-Accounts, Balance Sheet, Income Statement, debits & credits, profit & loss. Ability to propose T-Accounts for different transactions.
Background in working on or supporting financial systems such as Pastel, Accpac, Quickbooks, Sage, SAP or any of the Microsoft Dynamics ERP packages
Prior experience working with helpdesks and servicing clients
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
A background in software application support
Basic SQL knowledge and skills (understanding tables and fields, writing select statements, DB navigation )
Good communication skills
Friendly, clear phone manner and proper telephone etiquette
Ability to speak and write clearly and accurately must be able to talk about technology in simple terms
Demonstrated proficiency in typing and grammar
Effective listening skills
Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to co-operate with others and work to the greater good
Ability to function well under pressure
A logical thinker
Own reliable car and valid driver’s license mandatory

Experience that would be advantageous for this role include:

Qualification in accounting either degree, diploma or attended formal courses
Structured query language (SQL) knowledge or any other database knowledge
General technical knowledge and aptitude
Familiarity with the advertising and /or media industry
Previous Chase experience
Tertiary qualifications

Duties/Responsibilities include the following:

Provide telephonic, e-mail, remote support or web access support
Responding to customers queries and requests in regards to company products and services
Investigate and resolve customer issues
Adhere to standard company and departmental processes and procedures
Identify and escalate priority issues per Client specifications with appropriate departments
Follow up and make scheduled callbacks to clients where necessary
Stay current with product information, changes, and updates
Establish proper courses of action to ensure that issues logged are completed efficiently and on time (within stipulated SLA’s)
Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
