MEC on outcomes of Gauteng electricity crisis meeting

Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements, Urban Planning and COGTA, Lebogang Maile, met with mayors from all municipalities to discuss the electricity crisis in the province. Maile and his delegation held a bilateral meeting with Eskom CEO, André de Ruyter.

Electricity challenges, as well as debts owed to Eskom, are set to be discussed. Last week, the sheriff of the court seized property belonging to Emfuleni Municipality. Eskom says the total debt owed by the municipality was over R2-billion.
