JOB DESCRIPTION – MEAT BAGGER
Location: Wholesale Division Pretoria West
Position
The bagger’s main responsibility is to place meats cuts and meaty bones into bags.
Reporting to:
Facility Manager and Storage and Dispatch Supervisor
Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)
The bagger must ensure that the cut fits the bag
Place cut correctly into the bag
Place bag correctly onto the vacuum line
To work fast and accurate
Assist in stock control and the movement thereof
Assist in the cleaning of the facility
Must be capable and willing to work overtime when required Must be capable and willing to perform shift work should operational requirements change
Required skills and knowledge
Minimum requirement Grade 10 certificate
Preferred requirement Grade 12 certificate
1-year of working experience
English literacy
Required characteristics
Be able to follow rules and orders
Core strength to pick up boxes etc
Must be able to work in cold conditions
Listening skills
Honesty and Integrity
Must be able to work effectively and efficiently
To be able to undergo continuous training and evaluation
Exceptional personal hygiene practices
Working conditions (including but not limited to)
Majority of work hours are spent indoors
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
Prolonged standing
Push/pull actions
Bend from the waist or bend legs to reach lower shelves/boxes
Ability to tolerate varying temperatures (coolers/freezers)
Peripheral vision and depth perception.
Work may include lifting (up to 40kg), reaching, bending and pushing of boxes
Increased noise levels may persist
Exposure to hazardous equipment such as saws, cleavers, knives, slicers and band saws
Are sometimes exposed to contaminants, such as cleaning solvents
