Assault case against EFF leaders Julius Malema and Mbuyiseni Ndlozi postponed

The assault case against EFF leaders Julius Malema and Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has been postponed to 3 June. The witness meant to take the stand was not in court after she submitted a sick note. The pair appeared at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

They are accused of assaulting a police officer, Colonel Johannes Venter at the funeral of Winnie Madikizela Mandela in 2018.

Both Malema and Ndlozi have pleaded not guilty to charges of common assault. There has been concern over the delays that have taken place in this case.
