Education Dept confirms March deadline for Matric rewrites

The class of 2022 has until 15 March to apply to rewrite their matric exams.

This is according to Basic Education Department spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga.

The matric results will be released at schools and exam centres on 20 January.

“The 15th of March, will be the date that we close the application process for those that want to rewrite if they wish to increase the pass marks in terms of the results that they would have obtained,” Mhlanga said.

“What is critical is that as soon as you get your results, please look into them and what they are telling you and immediately apply.

“We get requests from applicants every year after the deadline has passed and we cannot take anymore after that because the process is regulated, everything runs on time.’’
