Uzalo actor Masoja Msiza steals R18 000
The star was a no show at an event he was already paid for. Popular Uzalo actor Masoja Msiza, who acts as hard gangster Nkunzi in the TV show has found himself in real-life bad publicity after allegedly conning promoters of R18 000.
iHarare has learnt that Masoja together with two other actors were approached by event organizers Esona Masele and Zukisa Robiyane.
According to a deposit slip which iHarare has seen, Masoja charged R20 000 as an appearance fee at the event. The event was being held at Mdantsane’s popular tavern Es’larheni. Of the R20 000, records show that R18 000 was paid into Masoja’s FNB account and the balance of R2000 was to be paid at the event.
Nkunzi has confirmed that he knows of the incident but could not make it to the event because there was a shoot he had to attend to. He said he sent Khathaza on his behalf. “I sent Khathaza to go on my behalf because I was busy on that day,” said Nkunzi.
Nkuzi denied all allegations leveled against him saying that he won’t speak to Journalists. He also didn’t bother to say when he will pay back the money due to the events organizer.
A fuming Zukisa said that he saw Nkunzi on a poster advertising the Eastern Cape Awards and that is when he decided to approach him for his event.
“He canceled a week before the event on December 7 saying that he has a very big shoot with Uzalo so he can’t make it. I told him to refund us so that we can book other actors to come and cover-up his mess and that’s when he told me that akahlangani nalawo masimba and I am the one who must book those celebs to come to my event,” said Zukisa Robiyane.
Social media users advised Zukisa to take the legal route or approach the small claims court in order for him to recover his money.
