Santaco’s Mango acquisition fails

The South African National Taxi Council has failed in its bid to acquire Mango airlines.
According to the carrier’s business rescue practitioner, Santaco wasn’t even shortlisted as a bidder.
The practitioners received numerous applications.
Bidders will ultimately acquire the entire share capital of Mango and any liability claims against the airline.
The carrier has been involuntary business rescue since last July.
It owes nearly R3-billion to creditors.
Santaco tried to get an airline off the ground in 2011.
However, the low-cost carrier Santaco Express never took to the skies.
