Police continue search for man who allegedly threw hot coffee on baby

Police are continuing the search for a man who allegedly threw boiling hot coffee on a baby at a park in Stones Corner in Queensland, in August.
Australian police have now sought assistance from international law enforcement to track the man down.
It is believed that the man, believed to be a foreign national, has fled the country. Police said the man allegedly took a cab to the Brisbane city centre before driving across the border to New South Wales. He then allegedly flew out from the Sydeny Airport at the end of last month.
Police said that a family was with their nine-month-old son in Hanlon Park when the man walked up to them and allegedly poured scalding hot coffee on the child before fleeing.
In a statement on their website, Queensland police said the man was not known to the family.
Police stated that emergency crews were called, and the youngster was rushed to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
CNN reported that the baby, known as Luka, sustained burns on his legs, arms, and face.
The Child Protection and Investigation Unit is investigating.
“CCTV footage shows a man running from the incident location shortly afterwards. He is described as around 30 to 40-years-old, of a proportionate build, with tanned skin. He was wearing a black hat, glasses, a shirt, and shorts,” police said.
