43-year-old man stoned to death and burnt
Limpopo police have launched a manhunt for people who stoned a man to death.
The cops in Tzaneen said the 43-year-old man was stoned to death and then set alight in Bismarck Village on Sunday morning.
The group of men also damaged his house and car and went on to torch the house belonging to another person.
Police spokesman Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said the man was home when a group of about six men arrived and started assaulting him and damaging his house, furniture, and two vehicles.
“Then they took him to the nearby bushes and with other community members, stoned and set him alight. He died on the scene. The crowd reportedly moved to the house of another person and when they couldn’t find him, they torched his house,” Mojapelo said.
Mojapelo said the motive for the incident is still unknown, but domestic violence cannot be ruled out.
