Mamelodi Sundowns beat SuperSport United 2 – 1

Pitso Mosimane’s charges claimed the spoils in the Tshwane derby after defeating SuperSport 2-1 on Sunday.

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Themba Zwane felt the Absa Premiership champions should have been more clinical against SuperSport United.

Lebohang Maboe and Lyle Lakay got the goals in the first half, but Zwane feels they need to improve on the scoring.

Mamelodi Sundowns“As a team, we did well and we managed to stick to our plan, but I am a little bit disappointed because we didn’t take our chances and because of that the game was becoming difficult for us at the end,” Zwane told SuperSport TV.

“Still, at the end of the day we managed to get the three points.

“Goal scoring is a problem that we have. We are creating so many chances, but we do not take them. We need to work on that at practice and improve.”

“Zwane concluded by praising the Sundowns supporters who came out to cheer on the team despite the heavy rain that fell on the day.

“We really appreciate the supporters because even though it is raining they came in their numbers,” concluded Zwane.
