E.coli detected in Makana municipality water

As the cholera death toll and hospitalizations continue to rise, another municipality has told residents that E.coli was detected in a recent resampling.
The Makana Municipality in the Eastern Cape however says its water sources are clean.
They added that the E.coli bacteria was detected at a resampling stage at Settlers Hospital, Extension 7 clinic, and the Indoor Sports Centre.
Officials are conducting further tests but in the meantime, residents have been asked to take the necessary precautions before using tap water.
