You would be required to guide planning excellence in the Technical Department by implementing and managing the computerised maintenance management system, administering the procurement protocol and supporting Project Planning & Management.

Minimum Education and Experience:

N4 or higher, Mechanical / Electrical / Electromechanical, including Maths & Science

Trades tested (Red-seal), Mechanical / Electrical / Electromechanical

Technical industry experience (post-trade test) in Technical Tourism / Process Plant / Construction / Mining / Manufacturing

5 years Maintenance Planning, Scheduling and Administration experience

3 years Project Management experience

3 years Procurement and technical stores management experience

Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, and the application thereof in industry

Skills:

Computer literate (MS Office suite, MS Project, CMMS i.e. SAP /On-Key /DMS, Financial Management & Procurement software i.e. Syspro /SAP)

Procurement – tendering and obtaining quotes, competitive bidding and negotiating with suppliers, understand transport and delivery logistics

Strategic thinker – able to develop and maintain a holistic view of the Asset Management Cycle, and to extend this to all applicable fields

Planning – time requirements and allocations, resource planning, spare parts management

Able to analyse data and interpret it into useable information

Organisation and 5s

Responsibilities:

Develop a maintainable asset structure and expand to component level where applicable

Participate in the Failure Mode, Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and apply the outcomes to prioritise items during implementation of the CMMS

Maintain CMMS Master Data

Apply the Reliability Centred Maintenance strategy for each maintainable assets and components

Develop Asset Care Plans and work instructions for maintainable assets and components

Align system driven schedules with machine and resource availability

Issue system generated and ad-hoc job cards

Determine technical stores stock requirements and levels

Manage technical stores cycle counts, replenishment of items and housekeeping of stores

Procurement of technical equipment and spare parts

Administer and manage service/inspection contracts for 3rd party / OEM maintenance on selected equipment

Assist with planning and execution of technical projects

Maintain Technical documentation (Machinery Safety assessments, critical checklists, warranty registers etc.) and participate in audits.

Report on artisan labour recovery rate, schedule attainment, system performance, work order closure rate, technical stores service level

Assist with physical Plant and Facilities maintenance activities.

This role requires that the applicant has reliable transport for non-standard and after-hours tech support.
