ANC’s Magashule on campaign trail in Western Cape

The ANC is continuing efforts to regain the Western Cape in this year’s election.

Secretary-general, Ace Magashule, says it’s time for change, as he promised Philippi residents better lives if they vote for the governing party.

“I want to say, we can see your living conditions. The ANC has to work very hard to change this”. There are no proper toilets, no electricity, and proper roads. This is what the DA has done. The ANC government in the Western Cape built houses. Do not lose hope.”Magashule said.

“The ANC will not only come to you for votes, but we are also going to rebuild this place. We will visit every month after the elections. During this Easter period, let’s pray for the ANC to govern the whole country. We want the Western Cape back.”

The Democratic Alliance took sole control of the provincial government after 2009 elections.

The ANC has been unable to reclaim the province, losing ground to the DA over time.

The DA received 51.46 percent of the vote in 2009, while the ANC’s share fell sharply to 31.55 percent.
