Cape Town to lower water tariffs

The City of Cape Town is promising to lower tariffs and water restrictions it implemented during its drought.

This comes as much-need relief for communities on the Cape Flats who say — despite using water sparingly — they are still being charged high water tariffs.

Dams in the Western Cape Water Supply System are now 100 percent full.

New tariffs will come into effect from 1 November.
